Wow! This week has been the most stressful week of the semester for me so far. I had two mid terms!!! Yesterday i had my research methods exam and today my cogs 1.... But, I think everything went fine, so I'm happy about that. I been studying a lot and I feel relieved right now, even though I still have lots of work to do. I'm just looking forward for the weekend because I get to go home. Yay!!! I can't wait!!! I haven't been home in a month and a week and I already miss my family like crazy. I can't wait to tell them all about my semester! Even though I talk to them occasionally by phone, it's not the same as actually being there with them and bonding. They are always up to something and I feel like I'm missing out. My brother called me the other day and I asked him, "so what are you doing today?" And he says "I'm going to take the girl's (our sisters) to the movies..." He asks me, "what about you?" And I tell him, study, study, and study! He says that's good, but i would like it if you were here to go watch the movie with us. The entire time I was thinking I wish I were there too. But that's life and I can't complain because I have my life here in Merced as well. Well, that's it, I just wanted to reflect a little of how I feel this week. Not only has it been stressing, but its been a little depressing because I miss my family so much.

Today is Saturday September 23, 2007 and so far I haven't done anything fun! Lets see, first I went to Wal Mart to get an oil change... Then, I came to the library to study. It's 6:29 p.m and I'm still here studying!!! I'm so jealous because my friend is texting me, and telling me that she is in Fresno at the Plain white t's concert. I hate her! Just kidding... Well anyhow, I'm starting to feel a little hungry. It's been several days that my eating habits have not been the same. For the past few days I've been sick. I had a cold and a fever. It's not the best feeling in the world to be sick while you are in school. I just started the semester and am going on my fifth week now... Wow, it's been a quite busy month! Starting new classes, adjusting with my schedule, meeting new people. But overall, I'm very excited! The freshmen are nice and I'm glad to see our campus growing. Another thing that I'm happy about is that I finally met my mentee on Monday and we had lunch together. I found out that we have a lot in common. She is really nice and easy to talk to. We had lunch at the dining commons. Then we went to her dorm where I met all her suitemates. They are all nice girls and I'm happy to be meeting so many new people! Being a junior at UC Merced rocks!

Hi! I'm Maira! Where should I begin??? Well, I'm currently a junior at UC Merced and lovin it!!! I love life and I couldn't be any happier with what it's given me. First of all, god has blessed me with a wonderful family, friends, and boyfriend. I love school although it can get stressful... My life has changed, what can I say people change! Every year I'm not the same person and I'm pretty sure that none of you are either... But it's o.k because it's part of growing as a person... Well I'm just here trying to pursue my career! I hope to be a college Professor at a junior college someday because I love working with people and teaching seems like something I would like to do... Anyhow that's all I'd like to say for now...
